Gold Martial Arts expansion leads to new Balcatta club
Gold Martial Arts head instructor Mark Golding.
A MARTIAL arts club has opened its first-owned facility in Balcatta after seven years of producing national karate athletes in Nollamara.
Gold Martial Arts started classes on January 15 and will be officially opened in mid-February.
Owner and head instructor Mark Golding, also a national coach, said the growth of the club required a bigger facility.
“The whole idea of securing this property is not only because it is much bigger than the previous property but we want to grow the club and look after this northern corridor of Perth,” he said.
Mr Golding said the new facility was previously occupied by Blinds Magic and the club had to do extensive renovations.
The club offers programs for three-year-olds to adults.
On the back of a successful West Australian Karate League campaign, Mr Golding’s students are back training ahead of the first event in March and state team trials.
